Gandhi’s Top 10 Fundamentals for Changing the World

Have you ever read Gandhi's ideas about Peace?

It's time to do it!

 “You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”
“The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problem.”
“If I had no sense of humor, I would long ago have committed suicide.”
Mahatma Gandhi needs no long introduction. Everyone knows about the man who lead the Indian people to independence from British rule in 1947.
So let’s just move on to some of my favourite tips from Mahatma Gandhi.

Наш итоговый результат! Мы -за мир!

Society is becoming more and more violent. Why?

   Military science reveals a shockig fast about  Americans. In World War ll, only 20% of soldiers were wiling to fire their rifies. In the Korean War, 50% of soldiers were wiling to shoot an enemy while, in the Vietnam War, 90% of soldiers were wiling to kill.
   Social studies in this country have shown that in the late nineties more than 40% of young people were willing to have a gun.
  These facts show that modern society is becoming more and more violent. Why? Some people think that violence on TV and in movies, plus point-and-shoot video games, make young people more violent today.

                         Do you think that socienty is becoming more violent?
                         What is the possible reason for this violence?

Peace_News

Do you know that...Peace News is a pacifist magazine first published on 6 June 1936 to serve the peace movement in the United Kingdom.

 From later in 1936 to April 1961 it was the official paper of the Peace Pledge Union (PPU), and from 1990 to 2004 was co-published with War Resisters' International.
Peace News continues to be published in tabloid size print media and as a website by Peace News Ltd. It describes its editorial objectives as: to support and connect nonviolent and anti-militarist movements; provide a forum for such movements to develop common perspectives; take up issues suitable for campaigning; promote nonviolent, antimilitarist and pacifist analyses and strategies; stimulate thinking about the revolutionary implications of nonviolence. It is currently edited by Milan Rai and Emily Johns.
The Peace News archives are held at the Commonweal Collection in the J.B. Priestley Library, University of Bradford.
Tony Benn has described Peace News as " a paper that gives us hope...(it) should be widely read".

Peace

"Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understading." (Albert Einstein)

This statement is that people need to do for peace in the world. You need to think a head and not to use force

I think it is necessary to treat all problems and the conflicts seriously. It is necessary to think correctly to solve the problem and achieve peace. Violence and victims are not a way to peacekeeping.

Resolve Conflict? I can do it!

                                                                   Five steps to resolve a conflict.
They are:
1)Decide what the problem is;
2)Let everyone suggest an idea about how to solve;
3) Together discuss what will happen with each idea;
4)Choose the best idea;
5)Put the idea into action.

Peacemakers

           Peacemakers.

Peacemakers are willing to do:

1.to build peace on the planet;
2.to fight againts terrorism;
3.to help people who suffered from armed conflicts;
4.to settle self-determination conflicts;
5.to stop violence;
6.to organise pease forums;
7.to make all governments observe human rights.

Let’s stop all illegal actions!

I read yesterday news from UN news Center (http://goo.gl/jYPtw9 UN news center).
I would like to share it with you!
6MAy 2014-Increasing  violence in eastern and southern Ukraine is resulting in more and more death and desctruction, the top Unires Nations human rights said today, calling on all sides in the conflict to make a greater effort to find a peacful resolution, particularly ahead of the 25th May presidential election.
  As she urged all sides to do more to resolve the crisis, especially in eastern and southern towns which have seen a recent surge in violent protests, Navi Pillay, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, appealed to armed opposition groups to "stop all illegal actions, including detaining people and seizing public buildings in violation of Ukraine's laws and Constitutions".

It is extremely important that the authorities themselves demonstate full respect for the rule of law and scrupulously protect the human rights of all, includind the Russian-speaking population.

Waht do you think?
Wolfgang Langer

Wolfgang Langer is a teacher at the Ludwigsburg Pedagogical Institute in Germany.

He has worked on a number of projects related to tolerance and the culture of peace and is a true friend to Russia. Once he was asked to share an episode from his life to illustrate his idea of tolerance.
What people who work on peaceful projects do you know?
What do you know all but Wolfgang Langer?

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

In 1948, the United Nations wrote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It listed 29 different human rights.

According to the declaration, every person has the right to speak freely, to marry whomever he/she wants, to choose the work he/she likes and to get an education. The list of human rights includes protection against cruel punishment and protection. Against racial, ethnic sexual, and religious, descrimination. These rights are important for people throughout the world. But in some countries, people live without these rights. People still practice racism and discriminate against others.

QUESTIONS:

  1. What is the Russian translation for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
  2. Have you read this document?
  3. Do you think it's important for you to know about the document? Why?

Museum of Peace

 There are museums that aim to educate people about peace. They organise different art exhibitions, as art helps people of different nations and nationalities understand each other. One of the most famous museums of this kind is the international Museum of Peace and Solidarity in Samarkand.

 Its collection includes over 20,000 examples from more than 100 countries of the world, including drawings, paintings, flags, books, stamps and rrecords. The museum is proud of its wonderful collection of photographs, letters and articles, many signed by peacemakers from all the continents of the world.
